First Female Firefighter in over 195 years!
September
10th, 2007.
The monthly meeting at Washington Hook in Ladder was just
like any other. Business was conducted and members were
brought into the company. Tonight's meeting would see the
first female firefighter brought into the company. The
Company was founded in 1812. Amy Kruse is no stranger to the
firehouse. She has two brothers who are members. After all
Firefighting is a family tradition. Another First came this
month for the Yonkers Fire Department as well. Lianne Navedo
was the first female to join Yonkers Fire Department in 111
years. Congratulations Amy!
